Day 6 - Barcelona

We took a 9:00 flight from Porto to Barcelona. We also managed the metro to go from the airport to our hotel. Our room is very small. The only part not in the picture is the bathroom, which is so small you canuse the toilet and the sink at the same time.

Barcelona is a different city in that it is a mix of modern an old.  It’s has a much more cosmopolitan feel even though it’s still very old.

After eating lunch, we visited the Cathedral of Barcelona.  It’s beatiful inside.  All of these cathedrals has a unique presence and character.  It’s interesting to experience each one.

We had chicken and vegetable paella for dinner, then we walked around for a bit and looked at the architectural styles and the part of the shopping district..

By chance, there was an organ concert at the Cathedral tonight. It was wonderful to hear the organ played in that amazing building! The organist is taking bows from the organ loft on the right side (the white shirt among the pipes).

We look forward to exploring more of Barcelona tomorrow.  We plan visit Sagrada Familia cathedral, Parc Guell, and the Pablo Picasso museum.

Travel home, favorites, and frustrations

Our flight left Porto at 5:00 a.m. which is 10:00 p.m. the previous day in Utah.  Overall, we had a great trip!  Favorites: 1 - Sagrada Fami...
