Day 3 - Clothes Shopping

We slept in a bit this morning and had a late breakfast at a cafe in Famalicao, the town closest to where Eduardo grew up.

Then we went to Eduardo’s shop, The European, in downtown Porto. It is just down the street from the Clergios Church.

We both picked out fabric and all the details for new suits. They will take a few weeks to make and then he’ll ship them to us.

Kenneth also picked out an off-the-rack suit from Eduardo’s new ready-to-wear design collection.

We went for a drive out to the fishing village called Alupia. We walked a path above the beach for a little while. It was cold blustery day but the ocean is still beautiful!

We ate dinner at a place in Alupia. The nice thing about being with a local, is that they know about the out-of-the-way restaurants that you wouldn’t know about as a regular tourist.  We had smoked sausage as a starter, with olives and bread (of course), followed by a seafood and rice dish that we all shared.  The lobster and muscles were delicious.

Today was not as busy, but it was enjoyable with good food and conversation with a good friend.

Travel home, favorites, and frustrations

Our flight left Porto at 5:00 a.m. which is 10:00 p.m. the previous day in Utah.  Overall, we had a great trip!  Favorites: 1 - Sagrada Fami...
