From the time we left our house on Thursday morning, to the time we arrived at our friend Eduardo’s house was about 21 hours! And our checked bag didn’t make it on time. We were concerned about traveling through Amsterdam, but the problem happened in Salt Lake. Even though we dropped the bag two hours before our flight to Houston, the bag missed it. We finally picked it up at the Porto airport tonight at 9:00, about 10 hours after we arrived.
Eduardo picked us up and took us to his house, where he has a guest house we are staying in.
We went to lunch where we had a very traditional Portuguese meal of olives, prosciutto, cod fish, sea bass, crème brûlée, and Portuguese pudding for dessert.
We returned to Eduardo’s house and sat by the pool talking and catching up.
After a tapas dinner, we went back to the airport to pick up our checked bag. We are super tired but looking forward to our two week adventure on the Iberian Peninsula.
